Most people are in disbelief when they find out that I am a California native because of my deep-rooted love affair with Dunkin Donuts. While my years there as a child were brief, I still take full ownership of singing the Beach Boys smash hit, ‘California Girls,’ because yes, I, am a California girl at my core.

Now let’s fast forward twenty years, when babysitter from back in my California days contacted me, inviting me to photograph her wedding in San Diego. I’m told she was one of my early artistic influences and we’d draw and paint together.

Theresa is an artist herself and there is something so special about photographing the wedding of another artist. She had floral visions and you can really see it play throughout her celebration. Peek her handmade bridesmaid dresses! It was fitting that they tied the knot in the stunning San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas California. She hired one of her favorite local scenic painters to come and document several parts of the day through paint. This was the first time I bared witness to this. It was incredible to watch it come to life on the canvas and see the progression throughout the day.

The San Diego Botanic Garden is breathtaking every turn from the ceremony to cocktail hour, to the reception area itself. What a dream!
